February Daily Writing Prompts (3)

(Some) Notable Dates

Here are some prompts to get you thinking, and writing, about dates and events that occur each February… and one date that occurs decidedly less often! Of course, there are other notable dates in February generally and you may have some that are personal to you too. Write about these below, those that are important to you. As ever, use the prompts below as a springboard for your own imagination.

Valentine’s - or anti-Valentine’s…

  • Write a list of romantic things.

  • Of grand gestures (real or imagined) - a trip to Paris perhaps.

  • Of everyday moments: “He changed my oil…”

Or... write an anti-Valentine’s list. What’s the opposite of Valentine’s? What’s profoundly unromantic?

It’s in your hands.

Leap Day Writing Prompts title image for 29th February

February 29th: ‘Leap Day.’

If you took a leap on February 29th, where (or when!) would it take you? How would you use it?

How would you choose to spend an ‘extra’ day? What if only you had access to it and time stood still for everyone else?

What about the things that only happen on Leap Day? The meetings, the events, the new rituals and celebrations, the chances…

What if…?
